The Glass Palette offers a variety of classes and workshops, from one-day and weekend workshops to multi-week and immersion classes. Register for a one day project class, a weekend workshop to explore an exciting new technique, or an intro class to get started!
Our classes are designed for older teenagers – adults. Walk-Ins and Summer Studio Camps are offered to accommodate younger children.
Learn all the skills you need to create your own Tiffany-style stained glass panel in this three-day class. You will learn design considerations, glass cutting and grinding, copper foil and soldering, framing and finishing techniques while creating your own 6″x 8″ framed panel from a choice of designs.

Take your stained glass skills to the next level with this exciting continuation course focused on creating layered, dimensional, and visually rich glasswork. In this class, students will explore techniques that combine traditional stained glass construction with kiln-fused glass elements.
You’ll learn to design and fuse textured and layered pieces in the kiln, incorporating surface imagery and color through the use of glass enamels. These custom fused components will then be integrated into your original stained glass panels, adding depth, pattern, and expressive detail. Each student will create a 10″ x 10″ glass panel in a wooden frame.
Open to students with prior stained glass experience or completion of Stained Glass 1.

Learn glass-cutting techniques, tool usage, effective design, fusing practices (melting glass together in a kiln), slumping (shaping glass into molds) and creation of various effects. You will marvel at your own creations as you design and melt your ideas into form! Each student will complete 2-3 projects of their own design. Firing schedules and glass properties will be discussed.
$175 includes all glass and use of tools.
Learn innovative techniques for creating truly unique and exciting glass jewelry! Create your own spectacular designs in sparkling dichroic glass using power tools and specialized equipment – and learn tips and tricks to get you fired-up about fused glass. If you have experience with basic fused glass or fused jewelry and want to expand your horizons, this workshop is right for you. BONUS – techniques aren’t just for jewelry!

This enjoyable class will explore all of the steps and techniques to creating your own colorful designs using glass enamels. Learn outlining, shading and texture, and coloring using Fuse Master high-fire enamels. Each student will create sample tiles along with a finished 8″ bowl.

Explore the “crackle” technique in this one-day workshop as you create three tiles using varying tools, techniques and powdered glass in vibrant color combinations. The individual tiles are perfect to be cut up and used in future creations such as dish ware or jewelry. This workshop is enjoyable for students at all levels. A basic understanding of glass fusing is recommended.

This weekend workshop explores the technique of “cold-combing,” a safe and easy method of creating advanced-looking effects in your fused glass. Each student will learn combing techniques and create their own pendant, sushi plate and dipping bowl. This versatile technique is suitable for the beginning glass artist as well as advanced students looking to expand their glass horizons with minimal investment in new tools.

This one-day workshop explores the interactions of silver with glass, and how to use Bullseye reactive colors to achieve subtle to extreme effects in your fused glass artwork. The techniques learned are suitable for making unique jewelry, elegant dishware and evocative artistic works. Basic glass cutting and an understanding of fusing is preferred, and advanced students will also be inspired by the project possibilities. Participants will be supplied with glass and silver to complete a sushi-style dish, a tile and a piece of jewelry.

Create your own elegant iridescent dish set while learning creative ways to cut, assemble and achieve special effects with iridescent glass.
We’ll use rainbow iridized glass along with textures and patterns to enhance individual designs. Glass cutting tools, including the strip cutter will be demonstrated and practiced. This class is great for students of all skill levels. Each student will create a sushi serving tray and set of two dip dishes.

Practice the exciting and addictive technique of sand-art in glass! Create your own colorful fused glass tiles using glass “sand”, metallic and dichroic inclusions and custom shaping tools. Tiles can be shaped into dishes or displayed flat. Instructors will demonstrate methods for transforming fired tiles into jewelry items and larger constructions.
Each student will create one smaller and one larger tile/plate of their own design.
